Danger Zone Alert System
DETECT THE DANGER.WARN THE WORKER.INSTANTLY.
Smart Helmet-Based Proximity Warning for Invisible Hazards
VCT's Danger Zone Alert System adds an active layer of protection around designated electrical hazards.
Small BLE safety beacons are installed near energized equipment, electrical substations, or restricted high-voltage areas. When a worker approaches, the VCT InSite helmet detects the beacon and delivers an immediate audible warning.
Warns without network
or cloud connectivity
U.S. workers were killed by exposure to electricity between 2020 and 2024.
Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, CFOIElectrical Hazards Can BeInvisible. The Risk Is Not.
Electrical equipment, energized substations, restricted high-voltage areas, and other hazardous assets can expose workers to serious risks without an obvious physical indication of danger.
Traditional barriers, signs, procedures, and training remain essential โ but they still depend on worker awareness and situational attention.
Protection Starts Before The WorkerReaches The Hazard
Mark
A compact BLE safety beacon is installed near the electrical hazard or restricted zone.
Detect
The VCT InSite helmet continuously scans for designated BLE safety beacons.
Evaluate
The system evaluates beacon proximity using the configured threshold.
Warn
When the threshold is reached, the helmet issues an immediate audible warning through its integrated speaker.
The Warning Doesn't Wait For The Network.
The safety-critical warning is generated locally between the designated hazard beacon and the worker's smart helmet.
Protection happens locally at the worker.
Used for event reporting, location visibility, monitoring, and analytics.

Protection Built Into The PPEWorkers Already Wear
Standalone tags, badges, watches, or other devices can be forgotten, left behind, discharged, or simply not worn. By integrating the proximity-warning technology into the VCT InSite helmet, the protection becomes part of the worker's normal PPE.
The BLE beacon remains installed near the hazard and is always required to define the danger zone.
Different Hazards.Different Safety Boundaries.
The proximity threshold can be configured to accommodate different hazards and installation environments.
One electrical installation may require an earlier warning, while another controlled area may use a shorter detection boundary.
Collect Only What TheSafety Use Case Needs
The system is intentionally limited to the information required for this electrical-safety application.
Vital-sign monitoring is not part of this electrical-safety use case.
